Exciting times are ahead at Manvers Lake!

After a period of closure due to blue-green algae, we are thrilled to announce that the lake has now reopened for on and in-water activities. This reopening comes with enhanced safety measures, such as the use of blue water dye and barley straw bales, ensuring we can all enjoy the lake while prioritizing everyone’s wellbeing.

Another big development is our brand-new Manvers Café, set to open its doors in October. The café will be more than just a place to grab a bite - it’s designed to be a central hub for socialising, community events, and club gatherings. We’re looking forward to welcoming you in for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee with friends (including your four-legged companions) very soon!

We’re also making strides with our ambitious White Water Rescue Course project, moving closer to achieving planning approval. This facility promises to bring invaluable training and educational opportunities to the region.

Finally, our recent “Summer on the Water” program made a splash with over 550 participants trying kayaking and paddleboarding - many of whom have since joined our club! These successes, along with strong performances in our Dragon Boat races and cycling section, are a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our members and volunteers.

For more details on all these stories and upcoming events, be sure to read the full newsletter here. We can’t wait to see what the next season brings to Manvers Lake!
