Manvers Waterfront Boat Club is proud to be hosting, in partnership with Paddle UK, the fifth National Short‑Course Marathon Championships.

The event features the ICF standard short‑course distance of 3.6km, raced over three laps with two portages. Para classes will compete without portages, ensuring inclusive and accessible racing for all competitors.

All paddlers must hold a valid Paddle UK (PUK/PS/PW) or PNI membership on the day of the event. We look forward to welcoming competitors from across the country to Manvers for a fantastic weekend of short‑course marathon racing.

The BDA National League is an annual series of dragon boat racing events organised by BDA registered clubs on behalf of the BDA at venues throughout the UK.

Each event has a regatta format, with qualifying rounds and minor and major finals to determine overall placings at the event.The racing format will be 200m, 500m & 2km pursuit

For 2026 we are holding both a  'Swim Run Kayak (SRK)' and a 'Aquathlon Swim Run (SR)'.

The aim is to deliver an event where people from all walks of life can participate. All that we ask is that you enjoy your training towards it and feel a great sense of achievement afterwards.

Waves Music Festival is making its return to Manvers Lake for the 4th year, and it’s set to be the highlight of the summer! You can enjoy live performances from a fantastic lineup of local and national artists alongside tasty street food, and a licenced bar. Join us on 12th July for an exciting and vibrant Colour Dash hosted by RUCT and Crossroads Care. This family-friendly event is open to everyone and promises a fantastic atmosphere as participants make their way around the route, getting covered in bright bursts of colour along the way!

Whether you walk, jog, or run, the day is all about coming together as a community, having fun, and supporting two incredible local charities. This 12 hour swim challenge will be a test of both physical stamina and mental endurance, in that you / your team are swimming 6 miles and awake through the night! On the hour every hour get in and swim half a mile! Starting at 6pm competitors will enter the lake and swim 2 x 400m loops, this will repeat every hour on the hour till 5am on the Sunday morning. Entries are Individual or Teams of 3. Please note, this event is suitable for Manvers members that are signed off swimmers only.​

Rowbothams Round Rotherham Run returns for another year, offering runners the chance to take on a unique trail challenge around the borough. Organised by Rotherham Harriers and Athletics Club, this well‑established event follows a scenic route linking woodland paths, countryside trails and urban edges, showcasing Rotherham from a different perspective. Open to experienced trail and ultra runners, the event is fully supported and renowned for its friendly atmosphere and strong community spirit.  Further details here.

Join us for the Rotherham Hospice Glow Walk — a spooktacular Halloween stroll around Manvers Lake. It’s all about togetherness, making memories, and raising vital funds to help us add more life to every day for anyone with a terminal illness.​

Come and explore our scenic lake trail and search for six hidden Easter clues along the way. Each clue contains a letter - gather them all to uncover the secret word! Once you've figured it out, head back to our café to claim your chocolate reward. On the reverse of the trail sheet there is a colouring page. Return it to the cafe once coloured in and be entered into our prize draw for a chance to win an Easter egg. No need to book, simply purchase your trail sheet at the café. Dusk ’Till Dawn Paddlesports is a unique overnight paddling experience for paddlers who are already comfortable on the water and ready for a deeper adventure. Throughout the night, participants will take part in hourly water sessions. During each session, all paddlers will head onto the water together and paddle as a team around the 800-metre swimming loop, returning to the slipway for a safe and controlled exit before the next session.

The journey concludes with a sunrise paddle—an unforgettable reward. Please note, this event is suitable for Manvers members that are signed off. Book on here.

This autumn, three Yorkshire NHS hospital charities are inviting the community to join their second Autumn Memory Walk – a special event to walk, reflect, and remember loved ones cared for in our hospitals. Organised by Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, Barnsley Hospital Charity, and Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals' Charity, the walk will support local NHS services to make a difference every day. After the walk, there will be an opportunity to leave a written memory for your loved one. Registration opens at 10am and the walk begins at 11am. ​The good news is anyone can take part and the event is free to spectators! The boats enable businesses, community groups, friends and families of all sizes to get involved in the fun!

Back and more popular than ever the Manvers Dusk till Dawn. This is an endurance event that is suitable for runners of varying ability. The concept is simple, you run as many 3.21 mile laps of the lake as you can between 6pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday. Between these times you can start when you want and finish when you want. You can take break at any point have a rest and then complete more laps later, it is entirely up to you.

The annual Kerala Pooram Snake Boat Race and Cultural festival will be returning to the lake once again. Organised by the Union of United Kingdom Malalyalee Associations (UUKMA), teams from all over the country will be competing.

The spectacular event will be a feast for both the eyes and ears as colourful flags, beating drums and adrenaline pumping racing takes place.

For the first time ever: Dragons Do Dusk Til Dawn!
This is an endurance challenge designed for competent dragon boat paddlers, pushing both body and mind to their limits. From 6pm Saturday until 6am Sunday, crews will paddle three laps of the lake, on the hour, every hour. Please note: this event is open exclusively to Manvers members who are confident and competent in dragon boat paddling.

Join us for our annual Halloween Spooky Paddle & Children’s Party, a fun-filled celebration for paddlesports members and their families. Come in fancy dress—paddlers and crafts alike—and enjoy a group paddle on the lake, weather permitting, with support from our coaches. Remember to bring reusable lights and decorations, as each craft must have at least one light, and only members signed off in the correct craft may take part (BAs required).  Club members only.

Wrap up warm and bring the whole family for a wintery morning of fun around the beautiful Manvers Lake. Whether you walk, jog, skip or sprint, the Frosty 5K is all about enjoying the outdoors together and making frosty memories!

Expect cheerful volunteers, a friendly atmosphere, and plenty of smiles at the finish line. Perfect for all ages and abilities. Come celebrate the season, get active, and kick off the day with a frosty blast of fresh air. See you at the start line!
