Military vs Cancer’s Peak District Challenge is back. Bringing the Royal Navy, Army, RAF, Veterans, and civilians together to support those suffering from cancer. As part of this, on the Sunday they will be taking to our water for a Dragon Boat Race. This challenge is open to EVERYONE, as long as you are happy to take part, have a laugh, and help raise a (dragon) boat load of cash for Military vs Cancer.

British Quadrathlon and Team Manvers have joined forces to bring a championship qualifier Quadrathlon to the Dearne Valley and Manvers Lake. Alongside this there is also a Triathlon running too. The aim is to deliver a Quadrathlon where people from all walks of life can participate. All that we ask is that you enjoy your training towards it and feel a great sense of achievement afterwards. There will be teams from all over the country battling it out on the waters of Manvers Lake, including our very own Team Manvers Dragons - please come down and support us!

This 12 hour swim challenge will be a test of both physical stamina and mental endurance, in that you / your team are swimming 6 miles and awake through the night! On the hour every hour get in and swim half a mile! Starting at 6pm competitors will enter the lake and swim 2 x 400m loops, this will repeat every hour on the hour till 5am on the Sunday morning. Entries are Individual or Teams of 3.

Back and more popular than ever the Manvers Dusk till Dawn. This is an endurance event that is suitable for runners of varying ability. The concept is simple, you run as many 3.21 mile laps of the lake as you can between 6pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday. Between these times you can start when you want and finish when you want. You can take break at any point have a rest and then complete more laps later, it is entirely up to you.

Back for another year, this popular 10k running event takes in the beautiful scenery of Manver’s Lake. In 2024 the race is even bigger than before as we have added a Fun Run for children and adults to take part in. This will run after the 10K race and will use the 1.25 mile loop of the lake.

The annual Kerala Pooram Snake Boat Race and Cultural festival will be returning to the lake once again. Organised by the Union of United Kingdom Malalyalee Associations (UUKMA), teams from all over the country will be competing.

The spectacular event will be a feast for both the eyes and ears as colourful flags, beating drums and adrenaline pumping racing takes place.
