Waves Pride Event FAQs

When

 

WHEN IS WAVES PRIDE EVENT?

It will take place on Friday 8th September 2023 from 5pm until 10:30pm.

​

WHAT TIME DO GATES OPEN?

Gates to the event will open at 5pm. The first band will begin at 5:30pm.

 

WHAT TIME DOES THE SITE CLOSE?

The final act will come off stage at 10:00pm and the festival site will close at 10.30pm.

We ask politely that you respect the local residents as you make your way from the festival site.

 

WHAT TIME IS LAST ENTRY?

Last entry into the festival is 9:00pm

Where

 

WHERE IS THE EVENT SITE SITUATED?

Waves Pride Event takes place in the parkland of Manvers Lake. The Boathouse, Station Road, Wath-upon-Dearne, Rotherham, South Yorkshire S63 7DG

​

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Parking is FREE at this event within our dedicated events car park as shown on this link.

Charges are still applicable in our main car park.

 

CAN VEHICLES BE LEFT OVERNIGHT?

No. Please ensure you have a designated driver and your vehicle is removed from our events field car park once the concert is over. The gates will be locked at 11pm.

 

Please note: People using the parking facilities do so purely at their own risk. Neither the organisers of Waves Pride Event nor Manvers Lake & Dearne Valley Trust will be responsible for any loss or damage caused to your vehicle.

WHERE CAN I BUY TICKETS?

Tickets can be purchased via Skiddle via the Waves Pride Event page

DOES WAVES PRIDE EVENT DO ON-THE-DAY TICKETS?

A small number may be available on the day but this is not guaranteed.

 

CAN UNDER 18’S ATTEND THE EVENT?

No, this event is for adults only, age 18 and above.

 

WILL I BE ABLE TO COME AND GO DURING THE EVENT?

Yes. Upon arrival you will receive a wristband. Please keep hold of your original email ticket at all times. Should you wish to leave the event site please present both wristband and ticket on re-entry.

Please note: toilets and refreshments will all be available within the site so there should be no need to leave the space for any of these facilities.

Facilities

 

WILL THERE BE A LICENSED BAR?

Yes, our bar will be open from 5pm until 9.30pm, just before the last act has finished on stage. We operate a strict Challenge-25 policy.

WILL THERE BE CATERING OUTLETS ON-SITE?

We hope that there will be a selection of food and drink caterers on-site - confirmation to follow.

 

ARE THERE CASH MACHINES ON-SITE?

No. The nearest cash machines will be in Wath itself (Asda & Tesco’s).

Card payments will be accepted for bar tokens and on certain concession stalls (some may be cash), but as card payment machines rely heavily on mobile phone signal we would always advise that you bring enough cash with you to enjoy the day.

ARE THERE ANY FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED?

Disabled toilets will be available in the main event site and blue badge holders can park at the Boathouse as indicated on the parking map.

ARE THERE CAMPING FACILITIES?

There is no camping available for this event.

Other

 

WHAT TO BRING / WHAT NOT TO BRING

Waves Pride Event is an open air event, so do please come prepared for whatever the good old British weather may throw at us - from raincoats to sun cream and blankets to sun hats!

 

Fold-up chairs will be permitted however we do request that they be used in a specific area to the back of the site so as to allow those who wish to sit on the grass full visibility of the stage. Please do not be offended if our stewards ask you to move or pack away your chair should they feel it is in an unsuitable location.

 

Tents, tables, gazebos, windbreaks or any other tented structures WILL NOT be permitted. Pull-along trolleys are not allowed.

 

Like most UK Day Festivals, no food or drink is allowed into the event. 

 

Alcohol is STRICTLY NOT PERMITTED as this is a licensed venue and will be provided on-site.

 

ARE DOGS ALLOWED TO ATTEND?

Only guide dogs may be permitted.
