![]() A group of Water Rats, parents and volunteers from Manvers Waterfront Boat Club have recently completed a hugely successful bag pack at the Tesco Extra store in Wath. The bag pack which was to raise funds to buy two new junior slalom boats and paddles took place on Saturday 13th April 2019 and raised an amazing £722.58 towards the target of £2000 In addition to raising funds the team also handed out a large number of publicity leaflets about the club.. In the words of Bob Finch, Paddlesport Section Representative from Manvers; "It was a great effort by everyone involved - very hard work but the amount raised made it all worth while. The water rats in particular were fantastic - they worked hard all day but somehow still made it enjoyable and fun. We received many compliments from customers and staff alike at how well behaved, enthusiastic and polite the kids were. Thank you to all of the wonderful people who contributed to our fundraising yesterday. I would also like to thank Tesco for giving us this opportunity and all of the staff who helped make it a success." Anyone wanting to donate to the fund for junior slalom boats can do so online via our Virgin Money Giving page at http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/smallslalom. All donations will be gratefully received. Comments are closed.
