![]() Ray Neal, a stalwart founder member of Manvers Waterfront Boat Club founder has lost his fight against Cancer. Ray died at home on Sunday morning at his home in Wath with his family at his side. Manvers Waterfront Boat Club would like to pass on their thoughts to his family at this sad time. Ray was the Honorary Vice President of the club, he was also a director/trustee of Manvers Lake and Dearne Valley Trust. Ray was a founder member of the club when he joined the club back in the summer of 2009. Ray’s love was windsurfing and he developed this at Manvers Lake. Ray leaves a legacy of all sort of equipment to practice on, racks to store equipment and getting grant aid to buy new kit so everyone could join in. Ray served on the club committee and as a director of the trust, in all he did he served the interests of the members first and foremost. Perhaps it is not going too far to say that Ray was the members champion. Ray, our Honorary Vice President, will be greatly missed and we really appreciate his contribution to the club and Manvers Lake. Mark Benton Comments are closed.
