The first ever National slalom competition at Manvers was voted a huge success by everyone who attended - paddlers and spectators alike. The event was organised in collaboration with Green Star Canoe Club who provided most of the boats and expertise needed.

Manvers paddlers put in some great performances to come away with loads of prizes and promotions;

  • Aidan Wilding - 1st in Div 4 K1 Men, promoted to Div 3
  • Andy Hyde - 2nd in Div 4 K1 Men, promoted to Div 3
  • Sean Quinn - 3rd in Div 4 K1 Men
  • Yvonne Merrills - 1st in Div 4 K1 Women, promoted to Div 3
  • Laura Rodgers - best J14 paddler in Div 4 K1 W
  • Emily Rodgers - best J10 paddler in Div 4 K1 W
  • Ryan Quinn - 1st in Officials race
  • Luke Wilson - 2nd in Officials race
  • Ryan Quinn/Maxx Wilson - 1st in Div 4 C2, promoted to Div 3
  • Bob Finch/Grace Wilson - 2nd in Div 4 C2, promoted to Div 3
  • Evo/Andy Hyde - 4th in Div 4 C2

A big thank you to everyone involved for all of the help in setting up, clearing away and all the 101 jobs that needed doing throughout the weekend - we couldnt have done it without your help.

If you are interested in trying out slalom paddling talk to Ryan Quinn or Bob Finch.
