With spring in the air (honestly!), evening paddling sessions start again on Thursday 2nd April. Sessions are on Tuesday & Thursday evenings, starting at 6 pm and finishing at 8 pm or when it gets dark - whichever happens first. For this year we have introduced some changes to procedures for issuing kit which are outlined below;
We have also brought in some new rules to help ensure that sessions run smoothly and safely.
Work will start in early April on construction of a new equipment store at Manvers boathouse. The new building which is being built with the help of grant funding from Sport England, Veolia Environmental Trust and the Coalfields Regeneration Trust will provide storage for up to 500 kayaks, canoes and sailboards plus associated kit such as paddles and buoyancy aids and also for safety boats and other vital equipment.
The boathouse will remain open throughout the construction period.
