The Committee has asked me to write to every member of the club informing them that the Annual General Meeting is to take place on Saturday 24th February 2018 at the Boathouse starting at 1300 hours.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the clubs annual reports/accounts for last year, consult with the members on how the club is developing and elect representatives to serve on the committee. This meeting can be very busy so, only items on the agenda can be discussed.
The committee have proposed a slight raise in subscriptions to ensure we can continue to provide good facilities.
Junior from £30 to £33
Senior from £60 to £66
Family from £90 to £99
If people want to pay before April at the old rate they can have 12 months added to their membership.
The Committee may have vacant roles and would particularly like members to consider whether they could volunteer to take on a position on the Committee. This can only happen if people are nominated so please consider standing for the Committee.
The General Meeting will be in accordance with the club rules and please note the following:
The articles of association and rules are on the clubs website, if you want more information.

Ray Neal, a stalwart founder member of Manvers Waterfront Boat Club founder has lost his fight against Cancer.
Ray died at home on Sunday morning at his home in Wath with his family at his side. Manvers Waterfront Boat Club would like to pass on their thoughts to his family at this sad time.
Ray was the Honorary Vice President of the club, he was also a director/trustee of Manvers Lake and Dearne Valley Trust.
Ray was a founder member of the club when he joined the club back in the summer of 2009.
Ray’s love was windsurfing and he developed this at Manvers Lake. Ray leaves a legacy of all sort of equipment to practice on, racks to store equipment and getting grant aid to buy new kit so everyone could join in.
Ray served on the club committee and as a director of the trust, in all he did he served the interests of the members first and foremost. Perhaps it is not going too far to say that Ray was the members champion.
Ray, our Honorary Vice President, will be greatly missed and we really appreciate his contribution to the club and Manvers Lake.
A team of up to 30 Royal Marines will be using the fantastic facilities we have here at Manvers Lake.
Local schools and colleges have been invited to attend the event which takes place over 3 days (21-23) March 2017. The 3 days are going to be very busy with approximately 200 children per day attending from across South Yorkshire.
The event is designed to give young people who are considering various careers an insight into the life of a Royal Marine.
Further information about the event can be sought from

We are running a beginners' river trip on Sunday 22nd January. The trip is on the River Derwent from Darley Bridge to Matlock - about 6km of easy Grade 1/2 moving water suitable for both kayaks and open canoes. If you would like to go on this trip we are meeting at Darley Bridge on the opposite side of the river from the Square & Compass pub at 9:30 am (satnav DE4 2JZ).
The get out is at Artists Corner car park off Dale Road, Matlock (satnav DE4 3PP).
All paddlers will need buoyancy aids, helmets, adequate warm clothing and footwear (plus a boat and paddle!). You should also bring a packed lunch and warm drink.
Anyone wanting to borrow club kit for the trip - boats, paddles, buoyancy aids and helmets etc - must complete a loan form and pay the loan fee in advance of the trip.
If you need help with transport either for yourself or a boat please let us know at email@example.com
Please let us know if you intend to go this trip so we can make sure we have adequate safety cover. For more information about any of the above contact Bob Finch or Ryan Quinn.
The two Hou 13 open canoes and four junior paddles bought as a memorial to club member Ryan Cocksedge were officially presented to the club last Saturday. The boats and paddles were presented at a short ceremony at the lake attended by many of Ryan's family and friends and club members.
The canoes will allow young paddlers learn open canoeing skills and make a welcome addition to our fleet and a fitting memorial to a great friend and fellow paddler.
Manvers Waterfront Boat Club would once again express it's gratitude to all of those who contributed to the fund which allowed us to buy the boats and paddles.
Manvers Waterfront Boat Club is a thriving multi-sport club based at Manvers Lake in South Yorkshire.
